I don’t like stars anymore, they tell lies. Once we looked on a starlit sky and our dreams were alive with young eyes to dream through.
Through summers long and winter wonderlands, those stars shone but, they went away seeking younger eyes than ours.
The dancing clock chimes and mocking church bells had their day, and we, yes ‘We’ dulled to shadows. Now aging children seek out those stars with the passion of regret and lust.
But the stars are gone, and so are we.
